What To Expect

Grace and Truth Baptist Church is a friendly family of Christians that seeks to honor God and His Word in everything that we do. When we assemble, we expect to meet with and worship the holy, living God–our Father–and His resurrected Son by His eternal Spirit as we hear His Word, the Bible, preached and taught, as we offer Him reverent, loving worship in psalms and hymns, and as we fellowship with Him and one another in all of His holy ordinances.

We are currently meeting in the home of one of our members. Parking on the street is not hard to find, and we can be accessed by public transit. Please contact us for our meeting location and if you need a ride.
On Sunday, we have about an hour-long Sunday School time for all ages, followed by a morning preaching and worship service. A high percentage of those who attend then stay for a meal together, followed by a Sunday afternoon service. We also have a Wednesday night prayer meeting. There is no obligation nor expectation for visitors to make a monetary donation–we will just be glad you came!

Lastly, many people want to know how they ought to dress when they come to a worship service at our church. There is no dress code at Grace and Truth Baptist Church. You will find that many of our people dress up in a more “traditional” Sunday attire, believing that God is pleased with our best as we come into His holy presence, but we know that the Lord is more concerned with the condition of our hearts than the condition of our clothes. We have people visit our church in a wide range of attire.

Thomas & Heather Ross

Bro Thomas Ross has served at Grace and Truth Baptist Church since 2024. Growing up in San Francisco, he never heard the gospel of Christ, but God in His glorious grace allowed him to hear the gospel as a freshman in college and he was [born again](https://faithsaves.net/unbelief-truth/), subsequently being baptized into the membership of a Bible-believing Baptist church near his college. While completing an undergraduate degree at the University of California at Berkeley, God was working in his life about training for the ministry. He graduated from Fairhaven Baptist College with his first Master's Degree and also received further graduate education at a number of theological institutions. He loves to read, study, preach and teach God's holy Word, and both personally draw close to and lead others to draw closer to the God of the Word. You can learn more about him at his faithsaves.net website, his [KJB1611 YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/@KJB1611Baptist), and [KJBIBLE1611 Rumble](https://rumble.com/user/KJBIBLE1611) channels.

Radford & Joyce Wong

Radford was born and raised in San Francisco, California, and is a first-generation American-born Chinese (ABC). His parents immigrated from Hong Kong in pursuit of the American dream more than forty years ago. But God had a greater purpose in mind for Radford—one that far surpassed any earthly dream.\ \ Pastor Wong is grateful to have been a “bus kid,” faithfully picked up and brought to church beginning at the age of five. For nearly four years, he regularly heard the Word of God in Sunday School. Just three months before his ninth birthday, Radford came under conviction for his sin after hearing God’s law from a Christian camp counselor. He realized he had failed to keep God’s commandments, had thus sinned against God, and was deserving of hell. God opened his eyes to His grace in which Jesus Christ died in his place on the cross to pay for his sins. Grateful for the blood the Lord Jesus shed to wash away his sins, he received Christ that day as his personal Savior and Lord. From that day forward he never again feared death. He gives all the glory to God for saving his wretched soul. Radford is thankful for the love of Christ which motivates him to joyfully live for the Lord and not for himself.\ \ After high school, the Lord called Radford to preach. He earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from a Bible college while helping to plant a Baptist church in Southern California. In 1998, after his sophomore year, Radford was sent out by Lancaster Baptist Church—home of WCBC—along with several classmates, to help plant a new church in Los Angeles. That church became an Independent Baptist church in 2000 and has remained the Wongs' sending church for missions in China and, now, for church planting work back in San Francisco.\ \ During his time in China, Radford met his wife through fellow missionaries. She is a product of missions, having come to Christ through the faithful witness of several independent Baptist missionaries. She was saved, baptized, and became a member of Charity Baptist Church. She later earned a two-year Bible degree from Truth Baptist Bible Institute. Radford and Joyce married in China and served there together for eleven years, co-laboring with another missionary family to plant the Grace and Truth Baptist Church in Northern China.\ \ In 2019, Radford returned to San Francisco to share Jesus Christ with this needy city and to care for his aging parents. His wife, who once lived as a national in her homeland, is now the missionary—having left everything familiar to serve the Lord in a foreign land.\ \ The Wongs have been blessed with seven children—two of whom are in Heaven due to miscarriage. They are raising four sons and one daughter, and their two oldest have trusted Christ as Savior. As a homeschooling family, they treasure their time together and enjoy taking nature walks as they journey, quite literally, on pilgrimage toward the Celestial City. They are currently planting Grace and Truth Baptist Church in San Francisco, seeking to glorify God and bring the gospel to the city Radford has always called home.
